Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin Speaks Out on Recent ETH Sale

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has drawn attention following recent ETH sales from a wallet linked to him. The sales, totaling 950 ETH, have sparked concerns in the crypto community, despite Buterin’s previous explanations.

In August, Buterin made significant ETH transfers to a multisig wallet, which raised investor fears of potential selling pressure on Ethereum’s market value. These moves led to speculation about his intentions, especially after 190 ETH was swapped for USDC, prompting criticism and accusations of “dumping” ETH.

However, some defended Buterin, arguing that taking profits is normal. Buterin clarified that these sales were not for personal profit but to fund Ethereum-related projects and charitable causes, including biomedical research.

Despite this, new concerns emerged when another 190 ETH sales were recorded in September, bringing the total to 950 ETH sold across smaller transactions.

Buterin explained that the recent sales were part of automated orders placed by a bio-defense group he supports, assuring the community that no more sales of this kind are planned for now.

While Ethereum‘s market has remained stable, Buterin’s transparency has eased some worries. However, the community continues to closely monitor his actions, given his significant influence on the Ethereum ecosystem.
