Around 20 Bitcoin ATMs Set-Up Worldwide on a Daily Basis in March 2022

Bitcoin ATMs

As Bitcoin adoption grows, players in the sector are putting infrastructure in place to help with the shift, such as Bitcoin ATMs. According to data, a total of 686 Bitcoin ATMs were installed worldwide in March 2022, with the number rising from 36,023 on March 1 to 36,709 on April 1.

This means that 22 Bitcoin ATMs were added every day in March alone, indicating that the number of Bitcoin ATMs built throughout time is continuing to rise. According to CoinATMRadar, the total number of crypto ATMs in the world was 36,733 as of April 11th. Given that CoinAtmRadar does not track all Bitcoin ATMs, the true figure could be far higher.

Number of Bitcoin ATMs Installed Worldwide Increases

As cryptocurrencies gain popularity and acceptability around the world, the growing number of Bitcoin ATMs in operation indicates how vital the machines are becoming. The United States, in particular, has seen the greatest number of Bitcoin ATM installations.

According to earlier data given in previous research, about 20,000 new Bitcoin ATMs were set up in 2021, with more than 50 each day. As a result, despite the main digital asset being a long way from its all-time high, providers and investors are likely confident about the industry’s long-term prospects.

Bitcoin ATMs appeal to cryptocurrency investors who want to profit from the asset without having to go through the time-consuming Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures required by most cryptocurrency trading platforms.

The British Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has ordered all operators of cryptocurrency ATMs in the country to shut down their machines for consumers immediately if they want to avoid legal action. Elsewhere in the midst of a crackdown on crypto advertisements, Singapore took dramatic measures to restrict consumer marketing of digital assets by shutting down Bitcoin ATMs.
