Binance Ceases Bitcoin NFT Support Amid Interest Spike

Binance

Binance, a major cryptocurrency exchange, has decided to discontinue support for Bitcoin NFTs less than a year after their launch.

In a recent blog post, Binance announced that it would no longer facilitate any new airdrops, benefits, or utilities associated with Bitcoin NFTs after April 10. Trading and deposits of Bitcoin NFTs on Binance will cease on April 18, and users are advised to withdraw their assets before May 18.

This decision affects the trading of Bitcoin-based Runestone NFTs as well. Despite the recent surge in interest in Bitcoin Ordinals NFTs, Binance’s move underscores the challenges and debates surrounding the integration of NFTs on the Bitcoin blockchain.

Runestone NFTs, distributed to eligible users, should be withdrawn before April 10, 2024. Trading of Runestone NFTs will not be supported. Users are reminded to consider the risks involved in NFT investments and to reach out to Binance NFT Customer Support for assistance.
