BTC Holding Addresses Almost At 40 Million, Report Finds

Luna Foundation

The number of Bitcoin (BTC) addresses holding the crypto has now reached a record high at approximately 40 million. The Bitcoin network has hit this new milestone regardless of the price downturn since the year began.

According to a Twitter post by IntoTheBlock, of the 40 million BTC addresses, 888,000 were added to the network since 2022 began.

Furthermore, Finbold previously reported an increase in BTC accumulation in recent months. However, there is still a noticeable gap between the number of whales (holding 1,000 to 10,000 Bitcoin), and holders with less than 1 BTC.

The growing increase in BTC accumulation in recent months reflects investor optimism in the popular crypto for the foreseeable future. According to CoinMarketCap’s crypto community, providing an 82% historical accuracy, the price of BTC will approach $50K by the end of March.

BTC is currently changing hands at $38,797, representing a downtown of 0.013% compared to last week’s $38,802. Furthermore, BTC’s overall market value now stands at $736.32 billion, which is 0.002% lower than it was just a week prior.

Originally, several members of the community thought that Bitcoin would react poorly to the ongoing conflict caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. However, the world’s number one crypto seems to be riding its own market wave without much effect from the war.
