Coinbase Launches Regulated Futures Trading for US Retail Customers

Coinbase

Coinbase has introduced regulated crypto futures trading for its Coinbase Advanced customers in the United States, following regulatory approval from the National Futures Association (NFA) in August.

This move enables eligible US customers to access Coinbase‘s regulated crypto futures service through Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM).

The service is tailored for retail traders, offering futures contracts at 1/100th of a Bitcoin and 1/10th of an Ethereum. Coinbase aims to make futures trading more accessible by providing educational resources and emphasizing the associated risks.

The primary objective of CFM is to make futures contracts more accessible to retail traders. With this new feature, traders in the US can seamlessly utilize the Coinbase Advanced platform to access both spot trading (through Coinbase Inc.) and futures trading (through CFM), all within one integrated, secure, and user-friendly platform.

The company views this as a significant step in bringing regulated crypto products to US customers and enhancing its status as a trusted and secure crypto-native platform.
