Hashmasks

Hashmasks, a new Ethereum project, recently sold a collection of 16,000 artworks for $9 million on the blockchain. The new project generated $9 million in sales within the first 4 days after launch. The massive sales pushed Hashmasks to become the largest non-fungible (NFT) collectible on the Ethereum blockchain.

On the 28th of January, Hashmasks sold its first batch of collectibles, Hashmasks 1, for 0.1 ETH, and sold consecutive batches at higher prices. Hashmasks 1 was sold for 100 ETH three days after sales began. By the first of February, all Hashmasks artworks were completely sold.

The NFT sector on Ethereum surged10 times over in December and January because of the Hashmasks sales.

Crypto art sales reached $8 million in December when prominent crypto artist Beeple sold non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to buyers. In January, Rick & Morty creator, Justin Roiland, also sold some sketches for $1.5 million.

The CEO of Terra Virtua Limited, Gary Bracey, commented:

“This issue is that no-one really can predict what will win and what will fail. This is what is so exciting about being involved in such a market – there are no rules or precedents and so at the start, one person’s idea is as good as another.”

ETH is currently up 1.63% to $1,629.97. The second-largest digital asset by market value reached a new all-time high of $1,689.19 on the 4th of February.
