Kraken Institutional Launches Custody Services in UK, Australia

Kraken Institutional, the division of US-based crypto exchange Kraken, is expanding its custody services to the UK and Australia, marking its first international move.

Starting July 18th, institutional clients in these regions can securely store, manage, and transfer crypto assets through Kraken Custody.

Tim Ogilvie, Head of Kraken Institutional, highlighted the strong presence and established crypto scenes in the UK and Australia as reasons for this expansion. Kraken Custody, supported by Kraken Financial, ensures funds are held separately from the exchange and accessible for withdrawal.

Currently, Kraken Custody supports Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and USDC (ERC20), with plans to add more assets later. Additionally, Kraken recently partnered with Atlético de Madrid, becoming the club’s Official Crypto and Web3 Partner and Official Sleeve Partner.

Kraken is also exploring raising over $100 million before a potential IPO and launched a self-custodial mobile wallet in April for managing tokens, NFTs, and DeFi activities across multiple blockchains.
