French authorities have given Luno a digital asset service provider (DASP) license. Luno, a cryptocurrency trading platform, announced on Tuesday that French regulators had granted it a license as a digital asset service provider (DASP).
As a result of the change, Luno may now directly serve French consumers. The company declared that it is now working on getting the optional license from the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), which has not yet been granted to any DASPs in the nation.
With more than $40 billion in cryptocurrency under control, Lunos is the largest blockchain investor in the world. As of right now, Luno is authorized to provide services in France as a digital asset service provider (DASP).
According to Marcus Swanepoel, CEO, and co-founder of Luno, “We believe that regulation is vital in crypto’s path to mass adoption and our DASP registration represents a key step towards achieving our strategic growth plans”
The Digital Currency Group, the largest blockchain investor in the world with more than $40 billion in cryptocurrency under control, includes Luno.
After Binance announced a €100 million ($102 million) investment in the nation and cooperation with the Station F startup incubator in Paris, France also approved Binance for a DASP license in May.
