Polygon Becomes Exclusive Blockchain for Disney Accelerator Program

Polygon

Disney’s new accelerator program has selected Polygon to participate, the company has revealed. The entertainment behemoth has only chosen six businesses to be a part of the new initiative, one of which is the Ethereum scaling solution.

Participation in the accelerator program by the project will aid Polygon in creating Web3 experiences. Disney’s 2022 Accelerator Program, in which Polygon will take part, will see the project based on Polygon’s web3 technology. Polygon is one of just six companies that have been accepted into the accelerator program, which will begin this week. According to a statement issued by the Walt Disney business, this year’s accelerator program will concentrate on augmented reality (AR), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and artificial intelligence (AI).

The CEO of Polygon, Ryan Watt, is happy and positive about the decision. Polygon was the only blockchain to be chosen for the prestigious accelerator program. The CEO of Polygon shared the news on Twitter, writing:

“The hits keep on comin’! @0xPolygon has been invited to @Disney’s prestigious Accelerator program. We were the only blockchain selected. It speaks volumes to the work being done here, and where we’re going as a company.”

He added that Polygon’s acceptance into the accelerator program was evidence of the company’s efforts and its future direction.

A blockchain with a strong interoperability focus, Polygon provides users with a variety of scaling tools that may be used to build decentralized apps that run on Ethereum. It provides a wide range of scalability options that are specifically intended to address the problems with Ethereum Mainnet’s high transaction fees and sluggish transaction times.

Besides Polygon, several other players were selected as program participants. This year, Flickplay and Lockerverse were also chosen. A web3 application called Flickplay enables users to find new NFTs via augmented reality. Lockerverse, on the other hand, is a web-based storytelling platform that links brands and creators.

Red 6, Obsess, a 3D virtual retailer, and Inworld, a maker of virtual characters driven by AI, are two additional companies taking part in the accelerator program.

The 2014 introduction of Disney’s accelerator program gives selected participants access to the team’s guidance. The leadership group at Disney offers advice to the participants as well. Companies taking part in the program will also get extra funding for investments and access to the co-working area at the Walt Disney Campus in Los Angeles. A demonstration on campus will wrap up the program.

To make web3 technology accessible to mobile users, Polygon just announced a partnership with phone manufacturer Nothing. As a result of the collaboration, users of the forthcoming Nothing Phone will have access to payments, gaming, decentralized applications, and even more.
