Popular adult video streaming service Pornhub has announced that its models will now be able to receive their payments using Tether’s USDT. This is coming after PayPal unceremoniously stopped supporting models’ payments.
In the company’s announcement yesterday, it said that models are free to receive money using USDT and suggested the TRONlink wallet.
There’s also a good chance Porhub decided to use a stablecoin this time so that the value of payments being received by its models does not falter. Models who are not crypto-forward might find it tough to go through that.
As part of the announcement, Pornhub also says that models also have the option to use Cosmo Payment if they choose to. Cosmo is a payment platform that supports several sectors including the adult industry. It offers prepaid cards that can easily be used to make purchases online or in-store, can be used on an ATM and will basically be accepted anywhere regular credit and debit cards are usable.
Back in November, Pornhub announced that Paypal had stopped allowing Pornhub to use its platform to pay models. At the time, Pornhub said it was “devastated by PayPal’s decision to stop payouts to over a hundred thousand performers who rely on them for their livelihoods.”
Porhub offered Verge (XVG) as an alternative.
