Quentin Tarantino Wants to Auction the ‘Pulp Fiction’ Screenplay as NFTs Amid Miramax Lawsuit

NFT

Veteran action flick filmmaker Quentin Tarantino announced on Wednesday, January 5th, his plans to publicly auction a popular movie screenplay. According to Tarantino, the screenplay of ‘Pulp Fiction’ will be auctioned as a non-fungible token (NFT). This development comes amid an outstanding lawsuit against Tarantino by American entertainment powerhouse Miramax, LLC. Miramax produced ‘Pulp Fiction,’ widely regarded as Tarantino’s masterpiece, and believes it still has “broad rights” to the movies.

Nonetheless, Tarantino plans to auction six chapters of the ‘Pulp Fiction’ script starting from January 17th – to the end of the month. In a press release, the prolific filmmaker and director said:

“I’m excited to be presenting these exclusive scenes from ‘Pulp Fiction’ to fans.

In addition, Tarantino also intimated that the released NFT content would take the form of ‘secret’ NFTs. This implies that only the owner of such would be privy to the content provided. In addition to the written scripts, the content would also include insightful commentary from the ‘Kill Bill’ director.

Tarantino plans to execute this initiative with a helping hand from SCRT Labs, the privacy-centric blockchain creator.

In order to access the NFTs on offer, individuals would have to first pre-register for the auction – beginning on January 10th. Furthermore, the Tarantino Collection NFTs are based on the Ethereum blockchain. This implies that prospective NFT buyers must have ETH or ETC-20-compatible stablecoins as a prerequisite.
