Robinhood has confirmed plans to introduce Bitcoin and Ether futures trading as part of its broader expansion of derivatives products and the launch of its new desktop platform, revealed at the HOOD Summit.
The platform will soon allow users to trade S&P 500, oil, Bitcoin, and more directly within the Robinhood app.
In the coming months, Robinhood will roll out Bitcoin Futures, Micro Bitcoin Futures, Bitcoin Friday Futures, Ether Futures, and Micro Ether Futures, all available via the CME. Robinhood already offers Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs in the U.S., along with direct crypto purchases through its Robinhood Crypto division.
Despite receiving a Wells notice from the SEC in May, Robinhood is moving forward with its crypto plans, including a potential stablecoin launch.
The company also unveiled “Robinhood Legend,” a customizable desktop trading platform aimed at active traders. Following these announcements, Robinhood’s stock rose 2.8% in pre-market trading.
