Solana Blockchain Now Live After Mainnet Beta Shutdown

Solana

Solana validators successfully addressed the network’s transactional issues that led to an outage, according to reports. The high traffic usage on the blockchain severely affected the mainnet beta, which had to be restarted by the community validators.

Earlier on Tuesday, Solana issued a statement to inform its community that the network was experiencing a lag. This compromised the usually high-throughput blockchain and caused transactional issues. As a result of this, the network enlisted the services of third-party validators to perform a complete system reboot. According to the said validators, the network was suffering from a denial-of-service disruption. However, on Wednesday, Solana finally announced that the restart carried out by the community was successful. The open-source project said:

“The Solana validator community successfully completed a restart of Mainnet Beta after an upgrade to 1.6.25. Dapps, block explorers, and supporting systems will recover over the next several hours, at which point full functionality should be restored.”

Solana has a reputation as one of the fastest-rising digital currencies of the year. Currently the seventh-largest crypto with a market cap of $47 billion, it surged over 30,000%. A year ago, SOL was at its lowest value of 50 cents. As of Thursday, it peaked at $211.
