Standard Chartered Predicts $500,000 Bitcoin Price by 2028

Standard Chartered’s Geoffrey Kendrick has projected that Bitcoin could hit $500,000 by 2028, citing improved investor access and declining volatility as key drivers.

Kendrick attributes Bitcoin’s growth to increasing institutional inflows, the expansion of options markets, and regulatory shifts under the Trump administration.

He highlighted how U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, launched in January 2024, have already attracted $39 billion in net inflows, significantly boosting adoption.

Drawing parallels to gold’s price surge after exchange-traded products (ETPs) debuted in 2004, Kendrick expects Bitcoin ETFs to accelerate a similar trend within just two years.

He also sees potential government and central bank interest in Bitcoin following Trump’s executive order to evaluate a national digital asset stockpile.

His timeline forecasts Bitcoin reaching $200,000 by the end of 2025, followed by $300,000 in 2026, $400,000 in 2027, and $500,000 by 2028, remaining at that level through 2029. Currently, Bitcoin is trading at approximately $98,700.
