Uniswap, the decentralized exchange, has launched in-app, permissionless cross-chain bridging, allowing users to conduct transactions across nine blockchain networks.
This feature is powered by Across Protocol’s cross-chain intents, facilitating seamless transfers between networks like Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, and ZKSync. Other supported networks include Base, Zora, Blast, OP Mainnet, and World Chain.
The bridging feature supports native assets such as ETH on Ethereum and ARB on Arbitrum, along with stablecoins, enabling users to perform cross-chain swaps directly via the Uniswap interface and wallet.
Despite having over six million users across multiple chains, cross-chain transactions remain relatively low, but Uniswap Labs aims to boost usage with this new feature.
The launch follows the recent introduction of UniChain, a layer-2 chain designed to tackle DeFi challenges by enhancing decentralization, transaction speed, and cross-chain liquidity.
