Web Browser Brave Announces Privacy-focused Search Engine “Brave Search”

Brave

Crypto-powered browser Brave has announced the launch of its private search engine, Brave Search. All Brave users can now access the beta version of Brave Search on their desktops, and operating systems such as Android and iOS. Other uses may also access the private search engine through search.brave.com.

The primary feature of the search engine is to give the utmost privacy to users by not collecting their IP addresses. As such, Brave Search will not provide personalized results that are influenced by information gained from cookies. Instead, the privacy-first search engine said that “the user comes first, not the advertising and data industries.”

Commenting on the new feature, Brave CEO Brendan Eich said it is “the industry’s most private search engine, as well as the only independent search engine.” He added that Brave Search offers a different way to get the best results and, at the same time, guarantees privacy.

Furthermore, the newly-launched search engine plans to unveil an ad-free paid search option to users, which will work along with the current ad-supported option. Users who accept to receive and view pre-listed ads may be rewarded with Basic Attention Tokens ($BAT).

Popular search engine Google recently adjusted the strict rule that prohibits crypto adverts on its results. Beginning from the 3rd of August, Google has reviewed the rule to permit only crypto exchanges and wallets while ICOs and sales of other tokens remain banned.
