Popular American comic book publisher, DC Comics, is partnering with Palm NFT Studio to launch its collection of non-fungible tokens. The NFTs will feature popular superheroes like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, and give fans a chance to own them. DC’s partner on this initiative is Palm NFT Studio, a blockchain network for culture and creativity.
According to reports, the NFTs will be available to all new and existing registered members of DC fandom, from October 5th. Furthermore, there is also a second collection class available to those who actively use social media channels.
Publisher and Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics, Jim Lee, is tasked with curating the digital collectibles, which would include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Harley Quinn. In addition, this initiative would also allow for fans to collect three covers for each character in three levels of rarity. For example, Wonder Woman fans can collect a Common NFT (1987’s Wonder Woman #1 by George Pérez), Rare NFT (2021’s Nubia and the Amazons #1 by Alitha Martinez), and Legendary NFT (Yara Flor on 2021’s Future State: Wonder Woman #1 by Jenny Frison.).
DC’s biggest rival Marvel Entertainment is also onboard the NFT bandwagon. The comics company also launched its own non-fungible tokens by partnering with VeVe, a blockchain-based digital collectibles marketplace. VeVe helped Marvel to release the first official Spiderman NFT.
