Crypto Worth Nearly $2 Billion Liquidated As BTC Plunges to $53,000

The crypto market’s total valuation fell more than $100 billion as Bitcoin (BTC) declined to $53,500. Bybt revealed that nearly $2 billion was liquidated within hours across the entire crypto market, with the largest single liquidation occurring on Huobi. The liquidation was in ETH, worth about $74.5 million. Other platforms where liquidations happened include Bybit and Binance.

The most liquidated cryptocurrency was Bitcoin, followed by Ether (ETH) and Dogecoin (DOGE). 

At press time, BTC is down 6.46% to $54,142. The king coin has traded as low as $53,393 in the last 24 hours. Bitcoin has also lost $3,690 over the past 24 hours. 

The crash is a sharp departure from the new high of $61,923 Bitcoin hit during the weekend. However, despite the loss across major cryptocurrencies, ETH, LTC, and DOGE have maintained an increase over the past 24 hours. 

Ethereum has jumped nearly 2% in the last 24 hours and climbed more than 26% in the last 7 days. LTC has improved by 3.73% over the past day, and DOGE has advanced more than 32% during the same period. 

DOGE has put on significant weight in recent times. The coin has been growing and has now become the fourth largest crypto asset by market value, worth over $73 billion.
