Ledger CEO Speaks on Hack, Here’s What He Said to Community

Ledger CEO Pascal Gauthier addressed the recent cyberattack on Ledger and its systems, assuring users that the hack has been successfully neutralized.

The attack involved injecting malicious code into Ledger’s Javascript library, exploiting a vulnerability from a phishing attack on a former employee.

Ledger collaborated with WalletConnect to swiftly eliminate the compromised code within an hour of detection, showcasing the company’s resilience and the collective strength of the DeFi community in addressing security challenges.

Gauthier outlined internal security measures and committed Ledger to enhancing protocols, introducing version 1.1.8 of its ConnectKit for improved protection.

Users are advised to upgrade promptly, and a 24-hour waiting period ensures new security measures are operational.

Despite previous hacks, Ledger remains dedicated to transparency and security, swiftly replacing the malicious code with the authentic version and conducting ongoing investigations. Users are reminded to clear-sign transactions for enhanced security awareness.
