Montreal Canadiens Set To Launch NFT Collection To Commemorate 2021 Playoff Run

The Montreal Canadiens ice hockey team is joining several other groups in the sports world to enter the non-fungible token (NFT) industry. The team has announced its first NFT tokens – digital collectibles to represent and celebrate its progress towards the 2021 Stanley Cup.

According to a recent media report, Montreal Canadiens will release the first set of these NFTs by 1 pm ET on Monday. Throughout September, the remaining packs would be released on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Tuesdays.

The team’s NFT collection will be released in two classes, including a base and a rare category. Both sets will cost 25 CAD and 50 CAD, respectively. Each NFT pack will include four unique pieces. Three of these will show artwork, commemorative tickets, and team photography from the Montreal Canadiens 2021 postseason. The last one will be a digital game puck with score data from one of the team’s 22 playoff games.

By September, interested fans and collectors will be able to trade these NFTs in a marketplace built on blockchain technology. The platform will allow interested collectors to pay using their credit cards.

According to a the media report, Montreal Canadiens will only release a limited number of packs, pegged at a few hundred. The team has launched a website for more information on sales.
