Blockchain company ShareRing has partnered with Tripadvisor’s marketplace, Viator, to enable users to pay for trips with various cryptocurrencies. Now users can book, register, and pay for several Viator experiences on the ShareRing platform with fiat currencies or cryptocurrencies.
According to a Cointelegraph report, users can pay with Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and the SharePay token (SHRP) for almost 400,000 Viator tourism experiences.
With the help of its ID system, the ShareRing Platform ensures advanced security for users’ personal and financial information. In addition, the platform has contact tracing features for safety.
ShareRing CEO Tim Bos expressed his excitement over the new partnership. He said the company is happy to add Viator to its ecosystem.
Furthermore, the CEO said ShareRing App users set up an ID on the blockchain during account creation. Speaking with Cointelegraph in an interview, Bos added:
“It is a self-sovereign ID that they have control over. This creates trust between them and the provider, especially where certain experiences might involve higher risk.”
ShareRing further revealed plans to enter partnerships with different companies. Upon the success of the anticipated partnerships, users will have access to book different flights, multiple vehicle rentals, as well as visa and tourist applications. In addition, ShareRing users will also be able to book over 2.6 million hotels.
ShareRing is also optimistic that 100,000 users would have signed up to its platform by the end of 2020.
