Solana: New Addresses on Network Reaches All-Time High in January

Solana

In January, there was a notable surge in the number of new addresses on the Solana blockchain, reaching 11.81 million. This represents an 18% increase from December’s count, which stood at approximately 10 million, marking a multi-month high at that time.

The last peak in unique new addresses on the Solana network occurred in May 2022, totaling 11.72 million.

The uptick in new Solana addresses coincides with heightened user activity on native decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and meme coins like Wen and Bonk.

The release of Jupiter’s native token, the network’s largest decentralized exchange aggregator, on the final day of the month likely contributed to this rise.

Although the 7-day average daily active addresses have increased by over one-third since the beginning of the year, the figure remains below the activity observed in May 2022.

Solana’s native coin, SOL, experienced a substantial price recovery from its 2022 lows, reaching yearly highs of $120 by the end of December 2023. As of the latest data, SOL has seen a 6% increase in the past 24 hours, currently trading at $101.3.
