Han Chang-joon, former CFO of Terraform Labs, has been extradited from Montenegro to South Korea at the decision of Montenegro’s Ministry of Justice.
The extradition comes after both Chang-joon and Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon were arrested in March for attempting to travel with forged documents. Chang-joon completed a four-month prison sentence in Montenegro.
While he has finished legal proceedings, Do Kwon remains in custody as Montenegro’s Ministry contemplates whether to extradite him to South Korea or the United States.
The appeals court in Montenegro overturned Do Kwon’s extradition in December. The SEC charged Terraform Labs and its former CEO in February for the collapse of TerraUSD and Luna tokens in May 2022, resulting in a $40 billion loss of investor wealth.
Similar charges were brought by South Korean prosecutors against Do Kwon and Terra affiliates.
